Ocean Swim and Feelings of Returning to the Sport of Triathlon

Today after work, my plan is to do an ocean swim at La Jolla Cove. Swim about 0.5 miles or even do 1 mile. Depending on time and how I feel. I will concentrate more on sight swimming technique as I have not perfected this technique. Also, I do need to go out in the ocean more to feel more comfortable being in a wetsuit.

Well, I have 9 more days until my big race day to compete in the San Diego International Triathlon 2009 (SDIT). I have a few co-workers competing in it. Two of them are going to compete in the Sprint (TJ Generoso and Javier Berrellez). I feel that both of them will do well in the race and complete it with a decent time for their REAL first triathlon race. Paul Dunne will be competing with me in the International distance.

I've been pretty happy with the results of my training to prepare for this race. I know I could have done better. There have been some set backs along this road to return to compete again. Vacation in Northern California (nothing wrong about going up north. It just happen to occur during my training. I can't put off life just for this race or any race, bike crash last May 5 due to some stupid, impatient asshole who decided to run me off the road, and some feelings of over-training). I would consider myself very lucky to have a wife that is supportive in my sport. She reminds me to stay on diet, motivate me to go train when I don't feel like it, PREPARES my food, and keeps the house in place. I try my best to help out, but to manage training and helping her out is tough. Again, I am LUCKY to have Rosie as my wife.

Well, almost end of my workshift and to start my swim at La Jolla Cove.
