I have never tried training in high elevation as I live close to sea level. I'm currently at Big Bear, CA where the elevation level is 6,750 ft. Now that's 1470 ft. more than a mile. Also, this is the place where a ton of California based athletes come to train.
I wanted to give it a try and feel how it's like to run in thin air and my results were terrible! Here's the link to my first ever high elevation run - http://connect.garmin.com/activity/158188303
